Maas, Calvert Laboratories’ Director of Client Services was
awarded the organization’s 2004 Chairman’s Award at the 1st Annual Chairman’s Circle Celebration dinner at Patsel’s
Restaurant on Thursday evening, January 27th. Russ
McLauchlan, Calvert’s Chairman and presenter of the award, was
joined at this celebration by the company’s past 12 winners of
the Chairman’s Award and their guests. Calvert’s Chairman’s
Award recognizes excellent individual performance by Calvert
employees, and this year’s event was the inauguration of the
Chairman’s Circle to annually recognize previous winners and
their continued contributions to the organization.
Leslie has been a part of the organization for 27 years and has
fulfilled a variety of roles including marketing and business
development, quality assurance, archiving and technical
support. She was recognized as this year’s winner of the
Chairman’s Award as a result of her efforts in developing strong
client relationships which ultimately strengthens the business
opportunities for the company. She works diligently on a daily
basis to ensure that each client receives the quality and
customized service they require to meet their drug development
requirements. Leslie and her husband Ken live in Dalton.

June 24, 2003 (Cary, NC) Calvert Laboratories, Inc., a
contract research company based in North
Carolina announces it has entered into a
strategic alliance with Pathology
Associates, a division of Charles River
Laboratories, Inc. (CRL: NYSE). Under
this alliance, Pathology Associates will
provide on site pathology services at
Calvert’s Olyphant, PA laboratories for
non-clinical drug development studies.
In addition, Pathology Associates will
provide Calvert a full range of
histology and special pathology
services, which will enhance Calvert’s
service offerings to include studies
requiring such endpoints as
immunohistochemistry, cell
proliferation, PCR analysis,
morphometrics and neuropathology.

FORMATION
OF CALVERT LABORATORIES ANNOUNCED Cary, NC February 24, 2003: Calvert Holdings, Inc.
announces the formation of Calvert Laboratories, Inc., its wholly
owned subsidiary focused on contract drug development. The change
in name reflects the consolidation of Calvert’s three operating
units under one management. The former Calvert Preclinical Services,
with laboratories in Olyphant, Pennsylvania; Calvert Archiving
Services, with storage facilities in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania;
and Calvert Analytical Services, with laboratories in Norristown,
Pennsylvania; and bioCentra Professional Services, with offices
in Davis, California are affected by this move. Since 2000, Calvert has taken significant efforts
to expand its nonclinical core expertise exemplified by the establishment
of contract histopathology and archiving services in addition
to expansion of its capabilities in the areas of drug metabolism
and pharmacokinetics. The new name, Calvert Laboratories, exemplifies
Calvert’s intention of continual integrated expansion from
our core nonclinical services segment into additional complementary
areas which will enable faster and more efficient drug development.
The organizational changes are considered essential to enable
